Elestrin is a brand-name 0.06% estradiol gel delivered through a metered pump and applied to the upper arm.
Each pump delivers 0.87 g of gel (≈0.52 mg estradiol).
Estradiol is absorbed through the skin into systemic circulation, bypassing the liver.
Elestrin is an FDA-approved brand-name product. Many Kindr patients use compounded alternatives prepared by a state-licensed 503A pharmacy when a custom dose, custom combination, or different delivery form is clinically preferable. Both pathways are available through Kindr — your provider will recommend based on your individual needs.
Both are pump gels. Elestrin is applied to the upper arm; EstroGel covers a wider area (arm/shoulder). Doses and absorption differ slightly.
Avoid skin-to-skin contact at the application site for at least 1 hour, especially with children.
