What it is

Vivelle-Dot is a brand-name twice-weekly transdermal patch delivering bioidentical 17β-estradiol.

Available in five doses (0.025, 0.0375, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1 mg/day) and known for being among the smallest and most discreet patches on the U.S. market.

How it works

Delivers steady transdermal estradiol over 3–4 days, then is replaced. Bypasses liver first-pass, lowering clot risk versus oral estrogen.

Restores serum estradiol to early-postmenopausal physiologic range, reducing vasomotor symptoms and protecting bone.

Evidence summary

Brand-name vs compounded

Vivelle-Dot is an FDA-approved brand-name product. Many Kindr patients use compounded alternatives prepared by a state-licensed 503A pharmacy when a custom dose, custom combination, or different delivery form is clinically preferable. Both pathways are available through Kindr — your provider will recommend based on your individual needs.
