GLP-1 Weight Care

Menopause weight gain is hormonal. Treat it that way.

Compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide — prescribed by board-certified providers and coordinated with your HRT plan. Because treating the hormone and the metabolism together gets results neither achieves alone.

What it is

GLP-1 weight care, in plain language.

GLP-1 receptor agonists — semaglutide and tirzepatide — are a class of medications originally developed for type 2 diabetes that produce significant, sustained weight loss by regulating the appetite and metabolic systems. They are now the most clinically effective pharmacologic treatment for obesity and metabolic dysfunction.

At Kindr, we prescribe compounded versions of these molecules coordinated with your HRT plan. The combination matters: hormone optimization and metabolic optimization reinforce each other.

The science

Why menopause weight is different from every other weight.

When estrogen declines during menopause, the body's metabolic function changes fundamentally. Fat redistributes from the hips and thighs — where estrogen directed it — to the abdomen. Insulin sensitivity decreases. The appetite-regulating hormones leptin and ghrelin shift. Resting metabolic rate drops.

This is not weight gain from eating more or moving less. It is the direct result of hormonal change. And it will not respond the way weight gain in your 30s did — no matter how disciplined you are.

GLP-1 receptor agonists work by regulating appetite signaling, improving insulin sensitivity, and supporting metabolic function. When prescribed alongside optimized HRT, the metabolic environment improves from two directions simultaneously. Clinical outcomes for coordinated HRT + GLP-1 exceed either treatment alone.

What we prescribe

What we prescribe

Compounded Semaglutide

Same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy. Weekly subcutaneous injection. Titrated gradually from starting dose to therapeutic dose over 8–12 weeks to minimize side effects.

Compounded Tirzepatide

Dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist — the active ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound. Weekly injection. Stronger metabolic and appetite effects in clinical trials than semaglutide alone for many patients.

Coordinated HRT + GLP-1

For patients on Kindr's Complete or Premium plan — both treatments managed by the same provider for maximum metabolic and hormonal benefit.

Eligibility

Am I eligible for GLP-1?

Your provider determines eligibility following clinical review. GLP-1 is generally appropriate for:

  • BMI ≥ 30
  • BMI ≥ 27 with a weight-related health condition
  • Women experiencing menopause-related metabolic weight gain
  • No personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2
  • No active pancreatitis

Eligibility determined by your provider at intake. Not all patients will qualify.

Who it's for

Who this is for

  • Unexplained weight gain since perimenopause or menopause
  • Difficulty losing weight despite diet and exercise
  • Increased abdominal fat or visceral adiposity
  • Insulin resistance or pre-diabetes
  • Persistent appetite dysregulation

What to expect

What to expect

1

Intake and eligibility review

Your provider reviews your weight history, metabolic markers, personal and family medical history, and current medications.

2

Starting dose prescribed

Treatment starts at a low dose to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Your protocol is built around your tolerance and response.

3

Medication ships

Your compounded GLP-1 ships from an FDA-registered pharmacy with all injection supplies included. Free shipping.

4

Monthly titration and check-ins

Your provider titrates your dose monthly based on response, side effects, and weight outcomes — included in your plan.

FDA / Compounding Notice

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved. They are prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies in accordance with USP standards. FDA enforcement on compounded GLP-1 products is subject to change. Your provider will discuss current availability and options at intake.

FAQ

Common questions

Is compounded semaglutide the same as Ozempic?

Compounded semaglutide contains the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy but is prepared by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy and is not FDA-approved as a finished drug product. Compounded medications are subject to USP standards and state board oversight. Your provider will discuss the current regulatory landscape and options at intake.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

In clinical trials, semaglutide produced average weight loss of approximately 15% of body weight over 68 weeks, and tirzepatide produced 15–20% over 72 weeks. Individual results vary widely depending on dose, adherence, baseline weight, and metabolic context. Coordinated HRT + GLP-1 outcomes in menopausal women often exceed GLP-1 monotherapy outcomes.

How long until I see results?

Appetite suppression usually appears within the first 1–2 weeks. Visible weight changes typically begin around weeks 4–8. Most patients reach their plateau between months 9 and 14. Your provider tracks your response monthly and adjusts your dose accordingly.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effects are nausea, decreased appetite, constipation or loose stools, and reflux — especially during the first weeks of treatment and after dose increases. Side effects are generally mild to moderate and improve with slow titration and dietary adjustments. Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis and gallbladder disease; your provider screens for these.

Can I take GLP-1 and HRT together?

Yes — and at Kindr, we recommend it for many women. There are no known pharmacologic interactions between standard HRT and GLP-1 receptor agonists. Coordinated treatment by the same provider produces better metabolic and symptom outcomes than either alone.

Do I need to inject myself?

GLP-1 medications are subcutaneous self-injections — typically once weekly. The needle is very small (similar to insulin pens). Your starter kit includes detailed instructions, supplies, and access to provider messaging if you have questions during your first injections.

What happens if I stop GLP-1?

Studies show that most patients regain a portion of lost weight after discontinuing GLP-1 therapy. The medication does not "cure" obesity — it treats it. Many patients use GLP-1 long term; others taper down once they have established new habits and reached their weight goals. Your provider works with you on a long-term plan.

Is GLP-1 available in my state?

Yes — Kindr is licensed in all 50 states, and our partner compounding pharmacy ships nationwide. Availability of specific compounded formulations may shift based on FDA enforcement; your provider will confirm what is available for you at intake.
