Skin & Hair Health

Your skin and hair changed when your hormones changed. That's not a coincidence.

Collagen loss, skin thinning, and hair changes during menopause are clinical symptoms — not cosmetic concerns. Kindr prescribes targeted prescription treatment coordinated with your HRT protocol.

What it is

Hormonal skin and hair, treated medically.

Skin and hair changes during menopause are not cosmetic problems — they are clinical symptoms of hormone decline. Kindr addresses them as such, with prescription medical treatment that goes well beyond what over-the-counter products can do.

The most powerful intervention is treating the root: optimizing your hormones with HRT. From there, targeted topical prescriptions accelerate and amplify results — collagen-stimulating retinoids, prescription hair treatments, and compounded preparations matched to your skin.

The science

What estrogen does for skin and hair — and what happens when it's gone.

Estrogen stimulates collagen production in the dermis. In the first five years after menopause onset, women lose approximately 30% of skin collagen. The visible result — thinning skin, loss of elasticity, increased wrinkling, and dryness — is not simply aging. It is estrogen withdrawal.

Hair follicles are similarly hormone-dependent. Estrogen extends the growth phase of the hair cycle. As estrogen declines and androgens become relatively dominant, follicles miniaturize — producing thinner, shorter hairs. This pattern — diffuse thinning across the scalp — is experienced by up to 50% of postmenopausal women.

The most effective intervention for both is addressing the hormonal root cause with HRT — while targeting the skin and scalp directly with prescription treatments that standard skincare products cannot match.

What we prescribe

What we prescribe

Prescription Tretinoin

Clinically proven retinoid for collagen stimulation, skin texture, and hyperpigmentation. The most evidence-supported topical anti-aging molecule available.

Topical Estrogen for Skin

Low-dose topical estradiol cream applied to the face, neck, and décolletage to directly support dermal collagen — distinct from systemic HRT.

Compounded Skincare

Custom-formulated prescription creams combining tretinoin, hydroquinone, niacinamide, and other actives at clinically effective concentrations.

Topical Minoxidil

FDA-approved hair regrowth treatment compounded at customized strengths for menopausal hair thinning.

Oral Spironolactone

For women with androgenic hair thinning — blocks the androgen effect on the follicle. Used cautiously and monitored.

Coordinated HRT

Systemic HRT addresses the hormonal root cause. Skin and hair treatments work substantially better when hormones are optimized.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this just a skincare subscription?

No. These are prescription medical treatments prescribed by a licensed Kindr provider following clinical evaluation — not over-the-counter products. Several formulations are compounded specifically for your skin profile.

Will HRT help my skin and hair?

For many women, yes — meaningfully. Systemic HRT addresses the hormonal root cause of midlife skin and hair changes. Topical prescription treatments target specific symptoms directly and work substantially better when systemic hormones are also optimized.

Is skin and hair treatment included in my plan?

Available as an add-on to any Kindr plan and included in Premium. Specific medication pricing is confirmed at intake.

How long before I see results?

Skincare results typically appear within 8–12 weeks of consistent use. Hair regrowth is slower — most women see improvement at 4–6 months with daily treatment. Patience and consistency matter more than any single product.

Can I use tretinoin while breastfeeding or pregnant?

No. Tretinoin and other systemic retinoids are contraindicated in pregnancy and not recommended in breastfeeding. Your provider will screen for this and discuss alternatives if needed.

Do I need a separate intake for skin and hair?

No. Your existing Kindr intake covers skin and hair health. Your provider adds treatment to your existing protocol — no separate appointment required.

Is topical estrogen safe for my face?

At the low doses prescribed for cosmetic dermal use, topical estradiol has very limited systemic absorption and is generally well-tolerated. Your provider will assess whether it is appropriate based on your hormonal and oncology history.

Will my hair regrowth be permanent?

Hair regrowth from minoxidil is maintained only with continued use — stopping treatment leads to regression over 3–6 months. Hormonal optimization addresses some of the underlying cause, which can improve long-term outcomes.
