Can GLP-1 medications like semaglutide help with menopause weight gain?

For appropriate candidates, GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide) produce clinically significant weight loss in midlife women — comparable to or better than results in younger populations in phase 3 trials. They work alongside, not in place of, addressing the underlying hormonal changes that drive midlife metabolic shifts. GLP-1s are not for everyone: a clinical evaluation reviews thyroid history, GI conditions, gallbladder disease, and goals before prescribing. Many patients combine GLP-1 therapy with HRT under one care plan.
