FDA Notice — Compounded GLP-1Compounded tirzepatide is not FDA-approved. It is prepared by a state-licensed, FDA-registered compounding pharmacy in accordance with USP standards. FDA enforcement on compounded GLP-1 medications is subject to change.

What it is

Tirzepatide is a once-weekly subcutaneous injection that activates both GIP and GLP-1 receptors — a dual mechanism unique among approved weight medications.

FDA-approved for chronic weight management (Zepbound) and type 2 diabetes (Mounjaro).

How it works

Dual receptor activation produces greater appetite suppression, slower gastric emptying, and improved insulin sensitivity than single-mechanism GLP-1 medications.

In menopausal weight management, this is often the most effective single tool when combined with resistance training and adequate protein.
