Longevity Clinics: how to choose a clinic

Longevity clinics combine advanced diagnostics (biological age, VO2 max, DEXA, CGM, ApoB, coronary calcium) with a plan across exercise, nutrition, sleep, and — when appropriate — medications and peptides. Quality varies enormously.

What to look for

  • A named medical director with published or verifiable clinical background.
  • A diagnostic panel that goes beyond a "biological age" score — ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin, hs-CRP, DEXA, VO2 max.
  • A written plan you own — not just a dashboard you log into.
  • Willingness to say "no" to interventions that lack evidence for you specifically.

Questions to ask

  • What is included in your baseline workup and how often is it repeated?
  • Which biomarkers do you actually treat to, and what are the targets?
  • Do you have exercise physiology and nutrition on staff, or is it all referrals?
  • How do you handle CGM, HRT, or peptides — as defaults or as options based on labs?
  • What is the all-in annual cost?

Red flags

  • Charges $10k+ for a "biological age" test with no clinical follow-through.
  • Sells stem cell or exosome IVs for general "anti-aging" without a real indication.
  • Every patient leaves with the same 15-supplement stack.

Typical cost

US longevity programs typically range from $2,500 for a one-time diagnostic workup to $10,000–$25,000/year for a full concierge program including labs, imaging, and coaching.

Frequently asked

Are longevity clinics worth it?

For people motivated to act on data, a good clinic compresses years of trial and error into a structured plan. For someone unwilling to change behavior, the ROI is low regardless of what the labs show.

What is biological age testing?

Most biological age scores are epigenetic (DNA methylation) or based on standard blood biomarkers. They are useful for trending over time but should not drive expensive interventions on their own.
