Both Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA-approved for chronic weight management. Both are weekly injectables. Both have produced double-digit weight loss in pivotal trials. But mechanism, magnitude, side-effect profile, and cost differ in ways that matter for menopausal women.

Which is better for menopausal women specifically?

There is no menopause-specific RCT. Mechanistically, tirzepatide's GIP activation drives more visceral fat loss — which is the fat depot that grows most in menopause. If insulin resistance, abdominal weight gain, or post-meal blood-sugar spikes are your primary concern, Zepbound is the more targeted choice. If you respond poorly to GI side effects or want the longer real-world safety dataset, Wegovy is reasonable.
